Figure AI came out of stealth on August 25 with Index, an iOS and Android app that pays anyone in 108 countries to record themselves folding laundry, setting a table or emptying the trash. The footage trains Helix, the model behind the Figure 03 humanoid. Figure says it has paid Creators $15 million so far and will spend over $1 billion on data and compute in the next 12 months.

Figure has industrialized the physical-demonstration gig — 16 million videos, $15 million paid — and the question is whether being paid to fold your own laundry is a good deal or the body's version of clickwork.
